The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies?

Like all hopeless romantics, I am on the hunt for 'The One'. The perfect chocolate chip cookie. This recipe is possibly the closest I've come to perfection, but like all humans I am never satisfied, so I'll be trying out numerous more recipes before deciding on a permanent favourite!

The cookies are really quick and easy to make, I used white and milk chocolate in mine but you can use whatever combination of chocolate that you like. The cookie dough mixture is also pretty tasty, probably the reason I didn't make as many cookies as the recipe indicated...

The cookies turned out gooey on the inside, with a nice chewy outside. I was on a mission to make cookies like Millie's Cookies (the definition of perfect), and these came very very close! If you leave them in the oven for longer, they'll be crisper and chewier if you're not a fan of the more dense, gooey cookie.

In other news, I'm starting my new job today! Working as a waitress in a hotel, hopefully I won't break too many things... Also, AS exams are coming up soon! Desperately need to start revision!

125g butter
100g soft brown sugar
125g caster sugar
1 egg
1tsp vanilla extract
225g self-raising flour
200g (I used 250g) chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 180oC
2. Cream the butter and sugar together until soft
3. Beat in the egg and vanilla
4. Mix in the flour, followed by the chocolate chips
5. Place balls of the mixture on a baking tray lined with parchment
6. Cook for 7-10 minutes, depending on how gooey you like them!
