In my school work I am normally the most organised, scared-of-missing-deadlines type person, however with this blog I just cannot start doing things! I've been putting off moving my drum kit back into the house since the beginning of the year, why did I think that setting up a camera and blog would be any different?! I really, really need to get cracking and serious about this blog!

With my AS level mocks coming up in just over 3 weeks, I don't really have a large amount of time to work with, especially as I have plans every Saturday during the evening & day for the next few weeks, and then Sunday I must work, it really isn't looking too good! However, I want this blog to work. I want to create something I'm proud of. That involves photos.

In the next few weeks, if I still haven't taken any photos due to me being a lazy shit then I will find photographs taken from the past, either by me or my mum, and I will be writing about those.

Otherwise, I may be updating you with random goings-on in my life - lent, Valentine's Day, half term, mocks, coursework, young enterprise, music, etc. etc.

I hope to keep you entertained... Tell me if there's something you'd like me to talk about!

I am the worst at doing things I actually need to do. I spent around 4 hours today trying to write a 1000 word essay (1000 words! That's next to nothing!) because I just couldn't focus - Jerry Springer was too entertaining, there was snow everywhere, and my mum was baking. How is a person meant to concentrate in those circumstances?!

Moving on to my actual point - this blog. I have a plan in my brain of what I want to do, and how I want to go about making this blog something I am proud of. This includes setting up my camera, getting up off my arse and actually doing something! I really am a lazy bugger, and at the minute I can barely find the motivation to get up in the morning, let alone anything else.

So, please, bare with me. I know my posts so far have been pretty much all text, and that's not the sort of person I am. I love colour, photography, a bit of excitement, and soon I hope to incorporate that into this blog. I promise within the next couple of weeks I will get to taking some photos for you (if there is anyone reading this that is...) and this blog will get a lot more exciting!

For now, I'm off to have a shower and get an early night, I am shattered.

So, I go to a very competitive, intelligent all girls' school, and at my school we are all expected to achieve highly. I managed to get 10 A*s at GCSE (probably already shoved that into a previous post but it's my only achievement in life let me werk it), and now I feel under a certain pressure to apply to Oxford/Cambridge as the next step in my education.

There are several things which really put me off applying, such as the workload (I'm lazy), the type of people I would encounter there, and the style of university life. I don't know if that's the sort of thing I want to spend 3 years of my life doing - writing essay upon essay, living in a smallish college with very intellectual people, being in a sort of 'boarding school university'.

What do you think? Is it really worth the hype? I know most people think it's incredible, but is it enjoyable?

What's to come?

I realise I haven't given you any idea what kind of baking I do! A long while ago I tried to create a baking blog, and it failed fantastically. Here are a few photos I took of my multicoloured cakes:

Yeah, I'm pretty fanatical about colour. Hopefully, more baking posts will follow shortly!

New Beginnings

- generic new year post -

I thought it would be a clever idea if I listed the things I hope to do this year, or at least attempt to do/achieve, so here goes:
  1. Give up a different thing each month - be it food, a drink, a habit, just some way to improve myself and teach myself self-discipline and will power. January's item is chocolate (warning: it is HELL).
  2. Try hard at school - now that GCSEs are over, and seeing as I didn't actually do that much work in the two years (I got set almost no homework, although I managed to come out with 10 A*S... how?!), I need to pick up my socks and work hard. I put a lot of pressure on myself in my academics, and with my GCSE results, I really want to achieve highly in my AS exams. Also, in lessons I almost never contribute, simply because I get very shy and awkward when I know other people can hear me. I need to GET THE F*CK OVER THIS and start answering questions, especially in Spanish - I need to embody a Spanish persona and just never shut up!
  3. Blog - having started this blog after spending the past year in love with other blogs and on tumblr, I want to keep at it and make this something I'm proud of. This means taking more photographs, doing lots more baking, and generally being better, which are all things I love doing, thank God!
  4. Get healthier - at the moment, my diet consists of pepsi max, any junk food I can find, chicken sandwiches and alphabetti spaghetti. I'm heading to Spain in the summer for two weeks, and I would love to strut on the beach being proud of who I am. I have been self conscious all my life, and I need to start getting proactive and do something about it!
  5. Exercise more - this is pretty much the same as the one above, but as well as eating healthy I need to do more exercise. I detest exercise, so I need to get my arse back in the gym and force myself to those zumba classes. The feeling you get after you've been healthy and exercised a lot is unparalleled, and if I'm going to be baking more I definitely need to burn it off!
  6. Be nicer - I want to pay as many compliments as I can this year, and be a more respectful and caring person, however I'm not going to cut down on my swearing (too much fun).
There are probably more things that I've forgotten and may add to this post later, but for now that's just a general idea of things I want to do this year! I'm going to have to refer back to this post in December and see how I've done. Wish me luck!

This is a bit of a rant about my experience with Boohoo, simply because I'm too lazy to take any photos of anything right now...

I recently ordered a Boohoo sequinned bralet after seeing it featured on llymlrs blog, and really liking it. The first time I had ordered from Boohoo, I ordered a pair of shoes in size 7, but was sent them in size 4. The cheeky buggers then proceeded to charge me £2.50 or so to pay for a return to stock! After this, I thought I just wouldn't order from them again. However, being the benevolent, forgiving (and evidently modest) person that I am, after seeing this top I thought they were worth a second chance. I WAS WRONG. They sent me the top, in the right size, however the zip was completely broken. I am very unimpressed with this service, as it's clear they do not check their stock before they send it out, and as this has now happened twice, I will most definitely not be shopping with them again!

Disappointing to start my blog off with a negative review, but I feel I need to share my bad experience with Boohoo with anyone who is unfortunate enough to stumble upon this blog.
